Audacious Alexa: Amplifying the Voice of Her Community

An Exclusive Podcast Series of Uncensored Conversations

Audacious Alexa is a cheeky, hairy, hearing disabled transfemme sex worker from the U.S. who rarely, if ever, backs down. She created her Audacious Alexa podcast to celebrate the stories and missions of fellow body hair influencers, using her project to decolonise social media.

Inside of me is an innate spirit of resistance to censorship, apathy, and mediocrity. I believe in taking your seat at the table if you're not invited and penning your own narrative

Through conversations with her guests, Alexa raises awareness of shadow banning, gender politics, and racist legislation laws within the US. She explains how "I believe in taking your seat at the table if you're not invited and penning your own narrative. Inside of me is an innate spirit of resistance to censorship, apathy and mediocrity. To have a community is to build one and that is what I feel I want to be an integral part of, what it means to exist: to amplify one another's voice."

Having initially started her Audacious Alexa interviews via IG live, Alexa (like so many of us) hit a wall of censorship. Having shared pictures of her transition journey, IG banned her from going live on her account. This not only reflects the repressive nature of female censorship, it also reflects the very reason why Alexa is interviewing people today. To revolt against the persistent sexualisation or shaming of femme bodies.

In this first episode, we hear Alexa talk with body hair wonder Meru about their own experience of hair fetishism, the highs and lows of dating, and how to navigate cultural differences peacefully.
